European Adventure Day #4

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

Today is our last day in London. I know you will miss it so much, but we are off to greener lands. On our last day in London we got to see the amazing Saint Pauls' Cathedral. When we booked out trip we received free entrance to the church, so of course we made sure we go to visit.

They did not allow photography inside of the church so my pictures are of the exterior only. The building is so beautiful though.
This is one of my favorite shots. I love Saint Paul's peaking out in the back ground. This bridge is very cool to walk on as well.

We stumbled upon this beautiful church and I was happy to snap some pictures of it.
I was so excited to spot Tower Bridge in the distance. This bridge is so beautiful and I was glad we got to walk across it and take some great pictures of it.
Enjoying our last day in London.
See you tomorrow for day #5 IRELAND!

Treasure Hunt Finds Part 2

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,
Happy to share part 2 of my amazing treasure hunt finds. This is the furniture edition from the this years best Estate sale.

The previous owner of this home had amazing taste. I say that because her taste was identical to mine so that makes it amazing ;) Anyways I spotted this beauitful white and blue chair and once I sat in it and confirmed it was sturdy I put it in my to buy pile.
Everything was 50% off the listed price!
She did a lovely job refinishing this chair, and I plan on keeping it as is.
Sturdy tanker desk chair. They had four of these chairs, and now I am regretting not buying two of them. I am considering e-mailing the Estate sale company to see if I can set up an appointment if they still have items available. Not sure yet, but I do love the one I did bring home.
$10.00 is the max that I set to buy chairs for my dining room, and this one happened to be $10.00 PERFECT!
I have been on the search for a bigger coffee table since we moved into the house. When I spotted this one at the sale I quickly walked over to the lady hosting the sale and requested she put a SOLD sticker on it so no one would get any ideas about buying it. This table is perfect for our family room, and it was already painted a white color and had that shabby chic look to it. I got this sturdy coffee table for $12.00!
This table is already set up with my favorite reads and remotes of course.
I think this table looks quite happy in its new home.
HAPPY TREASURE HUNTING!!!

Treasure Hunt Finds Part #1

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,
It has been far to long since my last treasure hunt finds post because I have not found anything in a long time. I was hoping to find a local Estate sale this past weekend so I went on craigslist to see if there was any happening. When I saw the pictures below posted for a local Estate sale I eagerly saved the info on my phone so I could head there first thing in the morning!

Look at all of these lovely vintage treasures!
I so would have loved to have taken this fire place home. It was just as beautiful in person too.
They had a whole bedroom set up with Christmas decorations. Because I got the sale on the second day everything was 50% off, and all of the Christmas decorations were only $0.25 each! I was so happy!
I have been wanting some of these sweet Christmas houses for ages. I have seen other bloggers display them at Christmas, and I have had my eye out for them. Plus as a reminder they were only $0.25 each.
This is my favorite little house!
Pottery for $1.00. I am going to plant a little succulent in this cute bowl.
Small tea cup for only $1.00. I just love the little details on the saucer.
Anthropolgie bowl for $0.50. I just had to bring it home even though I don't exactly know what I am going to use it for.
Printer letters for I have no idea how much because there was a section on the receipt called "misc" so they were just a few bucks or so.
Mr Joyful Thrifter spotted this awesome Dickens book. I am reading Great Expectations for my book club, so I was so jazzed that he found this copy for me to bring next month for book club.
It has some lovely illustrations throughout the book too.
Two lovely old books for $0.50 each.
This sturdy ampersand was found at a different garage sale and it was only $1.00.
Tomorrow I will be sharing my furniture finds from the sale.

What did you find this week? I would love to see your treasures too! Feel free to link up below. Or you can post your pictures to the Joyful Treasure Hunting facebook page (link on the side bar).

European Adventure Day #3

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,
I loved day #3 on our trip. It was so much fun to find this beautiful street. The street is lined with lovely stores and then on the side walks are booths filled with food, jewelry, clothing, house wares, and all sorts of other treasures.

Day #3
One of my favorite things about Europe is that they have tons of lovely flower shops. It seems like there are flowers being sold everywhere, and since I love flowers it is quite a joy to see all sorts of beauties on many of the streets we visited.
Each street is a new work of art in London. Each home has their own specific color. I love the idea of saying come on over you will know it is my house because its the pink one. So fun.
This store is AMAZING! Walls lined with vintage sewing machines. They sell high end clothing in mainly neutral colors.
Our final destination for the day was an extra awesome one. We got to go to sherlock Holmes house where they have a museum set up. It was so much fun to see his little house.
What a happy day it was!
P.s I can't wait to share my treasure hunt finds with you tomorrow. I found some fantastic stuff!

European Adventure Day #2

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,
Welcome to day #2 of our wonderful trip. This day was a day full of biking and walking. We rented bikes and went from our hotel to Kensington park, then to Buckingham palace, Big Ben, Westiminister Abbey, and then to a book sale. Lets just say our little feets were hurting after this fun day. We had a great time though and got to see a bunch of beautiful sites.

Day #2
Buckingham palace is surrounded by beautiful flowers and TONS of people. I just couldn't believe how vibrant the flowers are that surround the palace. I just loved looking at them.
We were very excited to see find the palace and walk around the beautiful grounds surrounding it.
We were lucky enough to arrive during the changing of the guard. That was really neat to see.
I wanted to sit in this spot for hours, but we kept trecking on as there was much more to see in London.
I just loved finding amazing detail wherever I looked.
Big ben is quite the site to see. The clock is beautiful and the windows are made up of tiny squares that reflect the most beautiful light.
I DID NOT go on this death trap, but it was neat to see. I hate heights so I just enjoyed snapping some shots of the eye of London,  and continuing on my way.
Westminister is an amazing church and has some lovely grounds as well.
I found out about a used book sale that is held under a bridge every day and I was so happy to find it open. I just love this concept and wish we had one in my town.
Tons of awesome used books.
Day two was fantastic, and I love remembering every where we went that day.
See you tomorrow with day #3!
